Lovebirds

Lovebirds are fantastic pets for experienced and inexperienced bird owners.  They are parrots packed with personality and can make an enjoyable addition to any household.  These small sized parrots are very colorful and active.  Lovebirds can easily spend hours with their owners.  They are popular and continue to warm the hearts of many.

There are nine different species of lovebirds: Abyssinian, Black-Cheeked, Black-Collard, Fischer’s, Madagascar, Masked, Nyasa, Peach-face, and Red-faced Lovebirds.  Of the nine species, only three can easily be found in captivity, the Peach-face, Masked, and Fischer’s.  The rest are very hard to breed or are non existent in captivity.

Having a lovebird for a pet is very enjoyable.  Lovebirds can be a delight both as aviary ornaments or handfed babies.  However choose to house your bird, they are sure to bring countless hours of enjoyment to any environment.
